Come and Visit Baguio City and Benguet

Yesterday, May 8, 2011, is Mother's Day. Me, my wife Jasmine and our daughter Chanice were thinking the night before where to go. My wife surfed the Internet for beach resorts and swimming pools near Baguio and she got a handful of sites showcasing those places.

I noticed that some (should I say mostly) of the finds are featured by visitors of those places. They want to show and tell the world how great the places are. So they posted the best pictures taken from those exciting places.

This inspired us all the more of our plans to write about Baguio City and share to the world information about this summer capital of the Philippines as we see and live with it day after day.

So allow me to have a short introduction of myself and my wife to you. I came here in Baguio last June 1989 for my college enrollment at Saint Louis University. Since then, I fell in love with the weather, the scenery, the people, the culture, the food, the pines, the strawberries and the fog. So I decided to settle down here. Finished my college, found a job, and a woman who later became my life, Jasmine.

Jasmine is a native of the adjacent town, La Trinidad, Benguet. She spent her schooling in Saint Louis campuses here in Baguio City so basically, she spent most of her life in this city. I will be asking her soon to write what it is like when she's in the elementary years, hope she'll remember how tourists spend their vacation here then.

With this, we wanted to share with you what we know about Baguio City. To get you familiarized with the places to visit, get to know the people, the favorite food and the things to look forward to. At the same time, we wanted to help you find your place to stay here for your upcoming visits. Spending hours looking for available hotels or transient houses that suites your budget around the city is a big cut on your vacation time and we know you don't want that if ever. So here comes one of the purposes of this site. Before you came to Baguio, we will give you choices where to stay, pick one from them, contact us if you need help, and we will arrange it for you. This is to help you focus more on enjoying your visit here in Baguio City and minimize the hassle of looking and booking for a place to stay.

Another exciting thing to note is Jasmine is an event coordinator. She had been talking with numerous brides-to-be (and yes sir, the grooms) and local wedding suppliers for the past years. She met most of would-be couples online. The bride (sometimes, the groom), contact her from anywhere in the world where there is Internet, tell her she wanted to have her dream wedding here in Baguio City and asks Jasmine how she can help her find a place to have their ceremony and reception. My wife will then look for venues and local wedding suppliers, get the best deal and a match with the bride's preferences, submit what she got to the bride and the communication continues. Again, we give the would-be couples choices, they will pick what matches their preferences, they contact us, and we will arrange it for them.

This is a new way for us to help people and we are very excited how this site will evolve with you and us. We are not certain what's ahead but we know, we are here to serve you to the best we can. So come and visit Baguio City.
